🇳🇵 NEPAL-SPECIFIC TALK — PRICE, SERVICE, RESALE, ROADS
  • The price is listed in Nepal at Rs 4 lakh ex-showroom for one variant.
  • Nepali discussions frame it as a dirt-focused motorcycle for rough roads, back roads, and off-road use.
  • Buyers care about service access, spare parts, resale value, and whether it suits Nepal’s broken roads rather than city commuting alone.
  • On-road price in Nepal is Rs 399,900 ex-showroom
  • Servicing network is Yamaha’s authorized centres (Kathmandu etc.), but parts‐availability in more remote areas is spotty

I'm totally in love with it. It serves its purpose well for me as a daily driving vehicle, a relaxing touring vehicle and still rock it off-road.

All I can say is, it's an excellent bike, never overheats and performance level does not reduce even after enduring long rides... only hope it had a fuel gauge, otherwise a superb machine!

Bh power is not good

Mileage 25-30?? 125 cc ko huda pani That's too low! Natra bike ramro ho.

One Nepal review describes the XTZ 125 as a beginner-friendly dirt bike that is light, reliable, fuel efficient, and better for back roads and single tracks than for carrying pillion or luggage.

A Nepal launch write-up lists the price at Rs 399,900 and presents the bike as an off-road motorcycle.

OWNERS OUTSIDE NEPAL

Owners in Philippines have lived with this for 10 years 2 months

The Yamaha XTZ 125 has been on sale in Philippines longer than in Nepal, so owners there have answered questions Nepali owners are only starting to. This sits alongside the Nepali sentiment above — it does not replace it. It is sold there as the Yamaha XTZ 125.

⚠️ THE NEPAL VERSION IS NOT IDENTICAL
  • Some Brazilian reviews discuss older carbureted XTZ 125 models and their specific seat foam, carburetor tuning and instrument cluster without a fuel gauge; if the Nepal-spec bike receives any updates such as different seat, revised carburetion or an added fuel gauge, those exact complaints or praises may not fully apply.
  • Fuel consumption figures reported in Brazil and the Philippines are based on their local fuel blend, traffic and typical loading; while indicative of efficiency, absolute km/L values may differ in Nepal’s conditions even with similar hardware.
  • Brazilian content covers earlier production years (2003–2016) of the XTZ 125; if Nepal receives a later revision (for example, minor changes to suspension valving, tires or ergonomics), some detailed impressions of ride feel and comfort could vary slightly from the units reviewed.
  • No verified evidence so far of different spec sold in Nepal; Philippine version uses 124cc air-cooled SOHC, carburetor, 5-speed, 21-in front /18-in rear wheels etc.
GROUND CLEARANCE & ROUGH ROADS
Owners in off-road and mixed-use reviews say the trail-style chassis and long-travel suspension give good clearance over speed bumps, potholes and light trails, making it suitable for rough Philippine roads.
High ground clearance gives advantage over ruts and rough terrain; praised in daily use over bumpy roads.
REAL-WORLD RANGE
Brazilian consumption tests and video reviews report fuel economy in the mid‑30s km/L in mixed use, and up to around the low‑40s km/L with gentle riding, implying long practical range from the small tank; Philippine owners similarly describe it as very fuel‑efficient for daily commuting.
Fuel economy reports are excellent: many owners report very low consumption (e.g. ~38-50 km/L) under normal riding; range good with 11 L tank.
SPACE & PRACTICALITY
Owner comments and reviews note that the bike has typical trail-bike proportions: adequate room for a single rider with gear, with the rear usable for a pillion but not spacious for long two-up touring.
Lightweight frame; good maneuverability; however storage and passenger pillion comfort are basic.
COMFORT & RIDE
Philippine and Brazil-focused owner reviews often praise the suspension comfort over bad roads, but many complain that the seat is narrow and becomes uncomfortable on longer rides over about 30–60 minutes.
Seat soft; comfortable ride over rough and unpaved roads; suspension absorbs small bumps well though rear suspension gives harsher feedback for bigger hits.
PERFORMANCE
Owners describe the 125 cc engine as adequate for city use and light trails, not a high-speed machine; it is best suited to commuting and moderate off-road riding.
Several owners highlight strong low-end torque and tractable power that makes the bike easy to handle in traffic and on uneven roads, but they also note limited top-end performance and difficulty sustaining higher speeds.
Power is modest (~12.5 PS / 11.6 Nm); fine for low/mid-speed, underwhelming for highways.
TECHNOLOGY & SCREENS
Owners and reviewers stress that the XTZ 125 is very basic in technology: carbureted engine, simple analogue instruments and no advanced electronics; some specifically mention the lack of a fuel gauge as a notable omission.
Simple tech: carburetor fuel delivery; analog instrumentation; lacks modern features.
BUILD QUALITY
Owners commonly describe the bike as solidly built for an entry-level trail, with durable frame and suspension and plastics that hold up well to daily use, though finish and materials are clearly utilitarian rather than premium.
Generally sturdy and rugged; usable build, though lower-end parts like rubbers, plastics, rear drum brake feel basic.
RELIABILITY
Multiple owner reviews from the Philippines and Brazil emphasize that the XTZ 125 is very reliable, with users reporting years of daily use without breakdowns and only routine preventive maintenance required.
Reports of long use with minimal issues; occasional problems with starter relay, carb overflow, fuel cap vents; many say maintenance is simple.
RAISED IN PHILIPPINES — BUT DOES NOT CARRY OVER TO NEPAL

Resale value, service and spare-part costs, warranty terms and charging coverage are set by each market — different duty, different dealer networks, a different used-car market. Read these as context on the vehicle's reputation, never as figures for Nepal.

  • Philippine owners frequently mention that the XTZ 125 is competitively priced and that maintenance costs are low compared with local alternatives, but those price and cost levels are specific to the Philippine market and do not apply to Nepal.
  • Some reviews discuss resale value and used-market pricing for older Brazilian XTZ 125 units, which reflects Brazilian demand and tax structures and cannot be assumed for Nepal.
  • Owner comments about the ease of finding service and spare parts refer to Yamaha’s dealer and parts network in the Philippines or Brazil, which may differ significantly from Nepal’s network.
  • Warranty terms, insurance premiums and financing options mentioned in Brazilian and Philippine reviews are based on local policies and should not be extrapolated to Nepal.
  • Brazilian video reviews refer to the local trail and off-road riding scene and available accessories; these ecosystem factors (clubs, aftermarket, riding spots) are market-specific rather than vehicle properties.

Owner satisfaction in Philippines: 80/100. This is a reading of Philippines owners only — it is not a Nepal sentiment score and is not counted in one.
