Nepal is set to host two national auto shows this August, with the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 taking place from 11–16 August 2026 (Shrawan 26–31, 2083) at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall, Kathmandu. The expo is organized by the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association, which has grown from 21 founding members to 36 importers and manufacturers. Stalls were allotted by lottery: 26 to four-wheeler brands, 23 to two-wheeler and commercial-vehicle brands.
Key Highlights
Nissan Tekton: A Premium SUV Debut
The Nissan Tekton is making its Nepal debut at the expo, brought by Pioneer Moto Corp, Nissan's official distributor in Nepal. Globally unveiled on 9 July 2026, the Tekton is a new premium SUV inspired by the Nissan Patrol, combining modern design, premium features, and advanced technology. It features a muscular design with sharp body lines, connected LED DRLs, and LED headlamps. Inside, it offers a three-tone dashboard, digital instrument cluster, and a touchscreen infotainment system. The Tekton supports over 55 connected car features through Nissan's smartphone app, including remote engine start and vehicle status monitoring.
The SUV is available with two turbo-petrol engine options: a 1.0-liter engine producing 100 PS and 166 Nm of torque with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a 1.3-liter engine developing 163 PS and 280 Nm of torque, available with either a manual or a 6-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission. Safety features include six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, and a high-tensile steel safety cage. The Tekton is launched in Nepal at a starting price of Rs 51.29 lakh, going up to Rs 83.59 lakh across six variants. It offers a claimed fuel economy of 19.5 km/l for the 1.0-liter manual version, while the 1.3-liter manual and DCT versions return 17.8 km/l and 18.5 km/l, respectively.
BAIC BJ30e: A Hybrid SUV Debut
The BAIC BJ30e has been launched in Nepal during the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 at a price of Rs 1.19 Crore, marking BAIC's entry into Nepal's passenger vehicle market. Introduced by Laxmi Motorhub, under Laxmi Group, the BJ30e is a rugged lifestyle hybrid SUV with a four-wheel drive and a 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain. It combines off-road-inspired styling with electrified powertrain technology, catering to buyers looking for a vehicle that can handle both urban driving and outdoor adventures.
The SUV measures 4,730 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,790 mm in height, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase. It offers 215 mm of ground clearance and has a kerb weight of 1,770 kg, while the fuel tank has a capacity of 51 litres. Power comes from a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a displacement of 1,498 cc, producing a maximum output of 116 kW and 235 Nm of torque, while the hybrid system adds electric motors to provide additional power and four-wheel-drive capability.
Hyundai Venue and Venue N Line: Locally Assembled Debuts
Laxmi Intercontinental will debut the Nepal-assembled next-generation Hyundai Venue at the expo. This compact SUV arrives with a comprehensive update, including the introduction of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a first for the Venue. The new generation features new LED lighting, a redesigned 16-inch wheel, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a revised center console. Inside, it boasts dual 12.3-inch screens, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, ventilated seats, and ambient lighting.
The Hyundai Venue N Line will also be showcased as a highlight of Hyundai's display. This performance-inspired version brings a sportier look with exclusive styling elements, advanced technology, and performance-focused upgrades. The Venue N Line features a sportier all-black cabin with red highlights and N Line-specific interior touches.
For driver convenience, the Venue includes a 360-degree camera, electric parking brake with auto hold, front parking sensors, drive and traction modes, and window sunshades. The engine lineup remains unchanged, offering a 1.2-liter Kappa petrol, 1.0-liter turbo-petrol, and 1.5-liter diesel engines with various transmission options.
MG Majestor: A Full-Size SUV Debut
The MG Majestor is another significant ICE debut at the expo, positioned in the premium full-size SUV category. It is powered by a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215.5 PS and 478.5 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and available in both 2WD and 4WD. The 4WD version features 10 off-road modes, Crawl Control, and triple differential locks. The Majestor offers 219 mm of ground clearance and an 810 mm water-wading capability.
Inside, the Majestor boasts a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a spacious interior, making it a strong contender for those seeking a larger SUV.
Updated Tata Tiago EV: New Arrival in Nepal
The updated Tata Tiago EV has reached Nepal, brought by Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd., Tata Motors' official distributor. This facelifted electric hatchback, unveiled in India a few months ago, will be available for viewing at the expo starting 11 August 2026. The Tiago EV offers a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery paired with a 55 kW electric motor producing 114 Nm of torque. The powertrain remains unchanged from the outgoing long-range model.
Inside, the Tiago EV features a redesigned dashboard with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a fully digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and cruise control. Safety equipment includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera. Tata has also revised the upholstery and cabin design to give the hatchback a more modern feel.

- ARCFOX T1 EV: Already in Nepal, this premium small EV offers a 2,770 mm wheelbase, motor options up to 95 kW, and fast charging capabilities.
- JETOUR T2: A rugged midsize SUV with a 2,800 mm wheelbase, 580-litre boot, and plug-in hybrid option, expected to be priced between Rs 68–82 lakh.
- Chery QQ 3 EV: Reintroducing the QQ nameplate with a 41.28 kWh LFP pack for 420 km CLTC, estimated at Rs 22–29 lakh.
Wuling's Major Push
Paramount Motors will showcase four Wuling models, including the Mini EV 4-door and the Eksion EV, a seven-seat flagship SUV with a 69.2 kWh battery.
