Leapmotor to refresh B01 sedan and B10 SUV, key EVs for Nepal market

Chinese electric vehicle maker Leapmotor will roll out updated versions of its B01 sedan and B10 SUV in China on July 16, with pre-orders already open there. According to the company’s announcement, both models get technology and comfort upgrades while keeping their long-range electric powertrains.

Why this matters for Nepal

Leapmotor is already active in Nepal. Local distributor Kedia International sells models like the C10 SUV and T03 city EV, and the B10 SUV was recently launched here with a claimed 600 km CLTC range and 160 kW motor. The B10 has now begun customer deliveries in Nepal.

That points to an established supply chain from China. It also leaves room for updated trims to arrive once Chinese sales settle.

Local EV portals have reported that Leapmotor is preparing to bring in the B10 more widely along with future B-series products, and the B01 sedan has been mentioned as a likely candidate for Nepal’s electric sedan segment. This China launch matters for buyers here because spec and feature changes in the home market usually carry over into export batches.

What’s new in the updated B01 and B10

According to Leapmotor: - Both B01 sedan and B10 SUV stay on an 800 V high-voltage architecture, allowing faster DC charging and better efficiency. - The updated B01 offers a claimed maximum range of up to 670 km, while the B10 claims up to 610 km on the Chinese test cycle. - B01 adds new purple and silver body colours, a 50-inch AR head-up display, a 17.3-inch 3K central screen, and a 14-speaker audio system with a dedicated music headrest for the driver. - The refreshed B10 gets an even larger 55-inch AR-HUD, dual "zero-gravity" front seats, a flexible bed-conversion layout and a large panoramic glass roof.

Indicative pricing for Nepali context

The current B10 in China launched at 99,800 yuan, and the B01 at 89,800 yuan. Using an approximate conversion of 1 yuan ≈ Rs 18, the base prices work out to roughly Rs 18 lakh for B01 and Rs 20 lakh for B10 at factory level. After adding freight, customs duty, VAT, dealer margins and registration costs, Nepali retail prices for fully imported EVs usually reach two to three times Chinese sticker levels.

That means future updated B01 and B10 variants for Nepal, if brought with similar specs, would likely sit in the Rs 40–60 lakh band. They would line up against premium Chinese and Indian EVs like MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, Tata Nexon EV and the upcoming Leapmotor B03X.

Impact on Nepali EV buyers

If the refreshed B01 and B10 come to Nepal: - Buyers could get longer range than many current rivals, useful for intercity trips along major corridors where fast-charging is still limited. - The 800 V architecture and large batteries may push local operators to invest more in higher-capacity DC fast chargers. - Advanced cockpit features like AR-HUDs and large screens would lift technology expectations in the mid-range EV bracket and put pressure on competitors to upgrade.

Given Leapmotor’s global expansion and current presence in Nepal, these updated B-series models are likely to enter the Nepali lineup in the coming year, with pricing and exact trims depending on import duties and distributor strategy.
