iCaur V27 hybrid SUV expected to debut in Nepal at NAIMA Expo

Chery Group’s iCaur V27 is expected to enter Nepal next month, with its local debut planned for the NAIMA Mobility Expo 2026, according to the company’s announcement and distributor sources.

What is confirmed

SPG Automobiles, the official distributor of iCar vehicles in Nepal, is bringing the SUV into the market. A company source told local media that the vehicle is expected to arrive in the first week of August and will be shown at the auto expo.

The company has not confirmed pricing or whether the SUV will be available for immediate sales after the event. For now, the safest reading is that the V27 is headed to Nepal first as a showcase model. Market launch details are still pending.

Powertrain and performance

The V27 uses an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) setup. It drives on electric power, while a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine works as a generator to extend driving range.

According to the announcement, the SUV will be offered in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive forms in China, but SPG Automobiles has not said which version will come to Nepal. The AWD version is reported to make 335 kW and 505 Nm, and can do 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.

Battery and range

The V27 is said to use a 34.3 kWh CATL LFP battery. Its electric-only range is claimed to be about 145 km, while the combined driving range with a full battery and fuel tank is around 1,200 km.

Size and equipment

This is a large SUV, measuring 5,055 mm long, 1,976 mm wide, and 1,894 mm high, with a 2,910 mm wheelbase.

The model is also described as coming with Horizon Journey’s 6P computing chip and Falcon 700 ADAS, with driver-assistance and safety features aimed at the premium end of the market.

For Nepali buyers, the V27 appears positioned as a rugged, long-range electrified SUV that could widen the choice in the hybrid and EV segment. The main question now is whether SPG Automobiles will announce a retail launch soon after the expo or keep it limited to display and market evaluation.
