GWM Nepal switches to Korala to keep EV deliveries moving
BG Impex, the official distributor for GWM in Nepal, says it has completed preparations to start handing over Ora 5 EV and Haval Jolion Max EV units to customers. Deliveries will follow a booking priority list.
The August 26 flood in the Bhotekoshi corridor badly damaged the Rasuwagadhi–Kerung road, cutting off Nepal’s main overland trade route with China. Imports for many brands stalled. To keep its pipeline running, GWM Nepal is now using the Korala border in Mustang as an alternative route for bringing in vehicles. This diversion has allowed the company to resume regular transport of containers and keep the delivery process active even while the usual road remains closed.
Jolion Max EV pricing and expo debut
The Haval Jolion Max EV was shown in Nepal at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 as GWM’s second full-electric SUV after the Ora 5. GWM Nepal has put the Jolion Max EV on the market at a special introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 59.99 lakh.
Both the Ora 5 and Jolion Max EV are aimed at the premium end of the electric car segment, with new-generation styling and modern EV technology. Customer interest has been described as strong, helped by the pricing and their positioning as higher-spec models.
Booking and delivery process
BG Impex says all bookings for the Ora 5 EV and Jolion Jolion Max EV are being processed in order of date and variant, so earlier bookings are served first. A detailed delivery schedule for each customer will be shared soon. The distributor says it is committed to making the full journey from booking to key handover clear and easy for buyers.
GWM Nepal also plans to keep expanding its premium and luxury electric line-up in the coming months, adding more China-sourced EVs as supply routes stabilise.
