BYD is preparing to reveal a new flagship luxury sedan under its premium Yangwang brand. The vehicle is officially named the Altior for international markets, while it will be known as the Dingyao in China.
Official details indicate the car will be unveiled around November 5 in the United Arab Emirates. The design draws inspiration from the Yangwang U8 SUV, featuring a front end styled after traditional Chinese 'Ding' metal vessels.
Key design elements include a long bonnet, a roof-mounted lidar sensor, and large chrome-plated rims. The rear doors open from the back, giving the vehicle a traditional limousine appearance.
Measuring 5,500 mm in length with a 3,350 mm wheelbase, the Altior is a large sedan. It is expected to feature four electric motors and a hydraulic suspension system. The model will compete against luxury vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
BYD has not yet released specific technical details regarding battery capacity, range, or pricing. The company is focusing on expanding its premium brand presence in the Middle East.
