A Nepali remittance user working in Saudi Arabia has received a **BYD Atto 1 electric car** as a bumper prize after using a digital wallet to send money home, according to the campaign announcement.

EV grand prize for remittance customer

Abhishek Kalakheti, who sends money from Saudi Arabia to Nepal through the Tigmo digital wallet and IME remittance network, was selected as the grand-prize winner of the scheme. As Abhishek is abroad, the **BYD Atto 1 EV was formally handed over to his wife, Kalpana Kalakheti**, at a prize distribution event in Kathmandu.

The campaign ran under the theme "Send via Tigmo to IME, win gifts" (Tigmo-marfa IME garaun, upahar jitau). Organisers say the offer was aimed at Nepali migrant workers who use digital channels to remit money to families in Nepal.

Other prizes: electric scooters and smartphones

Along with the grand-prize EV, the organisers handed out several other rewards to participating customers:

  • **Two Yadea Ovin electric scooters were awarded to winners Yubaraj Nyaupane and Santosh Giri**.
  • Twelve additional winners received Apple iPhones as consolation prizes.

Senior representatives from IME Group, including chairperson Chandra Prasad Dhakal, and officials from Tigmo jointly handed over the prizes during the ceremony.

What the BYD Atto 1 offers in Nepal

The prize vehicle, the BYD Atto 1, is BYD's smallest electric hatchback for the Nepali market. It is imported and distributed by Cimex Inc. and is positioned as an entry-level city EV.

Key specs and market details (as per recent market data):

  • Battery options: 30.08 kWh (Dynamic) and 38.88 kWh (Premium) Blade LFP battery.
  • Claimed range: around 230–300 km on a full charge, depending on variant.
  • Motor output: about 45 kW (roughly 60 hp) with front-wheel drive.
  • Seating: 5-seat hatchback, designed mainly for urban and short intercity use.
  • Price range in Nepal: recent listings show prices starting around Rs 29–30 lakh for the Dynamic variant and going up to about Rs 33–34 lakh for the Premium variant, depending on the latest offers and dealer updates.

For Nepali buyers, this promotion shows how remittance-based campaigns are increasingly linked with electric vehicles. Migrant workers get a chance to win high-value EVs like the BYD Atto 1 and are nudged towards using digital remittance channels.
