IM Motors has unveiled the new-generation IM LS6 electric SUV in China, with updated styling, a reworked chassis and a more tech-heavy cabin. Pre-sales have opened there in Max, Pro Max and Ultra variants, and the brand says the SUV drew more than 8,000 pre-orders within 45 minutes.
Where it sits beside MG’s Nepal lineup
In Nepal the LS6 is sold as the MG IM6, currently listed at an ex-showroom price of Rs 81.99 lakh for the single IM6 variant. That places it above the MG ZS EV (Standard Range) at Rs 52.99 lakh and MG Hector at up to Rs 78.25 lakh, and roughly level with the top MG MGS6 EV at Rs 81.99 lakh. Kuzu Nepal has not announced a price for the MG HS, and MG U9 EV pricing for Nepal has also not been stated.
What’s new on the IM LS6 in China
The latest IM LS6 keeps its low-set front end, flush door handles and coupe-like profile but adds a new by-wire chassis setup and fresh interior tech. Chinese pre-sale information highlights:
- An 800V high-voltage electric platform across the range.
- A full steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire chassis with four-wheel steering.
- Battery options from 76 kWh to 103 kWh, with CLTC ranges quoted between 650 km and 782 km on the pure-electric versions.
Power figures point to strong performance, with rear-drive versions targeting around 5–6 seconds 0–100 km/h and the top all-wheel-drive Ultra trim quoted at under 3.5 seconds.
What this means for Nepal buyers
Paramount Motors already sells the MG IM6 here, but a Nepal timeline for this updated LS6-based version has not been announced. Nepal pricing and variant details for any future MG IM6 update remain unconfirmed.
For Nepali EV buyers, the takeaway is simple: the MG IM6 at Rs 81.99 lakh is likely to gain major chassis and cabin upgrades when this new LS6 generation eventually reaches Nepal, but the distributor has not yet committed to a launch window.
