Honda has officially confirmed that its upcoming 0 Alpha electric SUV will make its debut on December 2, 2026. This model represents the Japanese automaker's first entry into the mass-market all-electric SUV segment.
The vehicle was first shown as a prototype at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2025. Road testing for the model has been underway in India since March 2026.
Production will take place at Honda’s Tapukara facility in Rajasthan. This plant is set to supply both the Indian domestic market and international export markets, including Japan.

Design and Interior
The production version is expected to stay close to the prototype's design. It features an upright stance, a tall roof-line, and squared-off wheel arches. The exterior will include sleek LED lighting elements.
Inside, the cabin follows Honda’s 'Man Maximum, Machine Minimum' philosophy. This approach aims to maximize passenger space by reducing the footprint of mechanical components. Spy images indicate the interior will likely feature a large central touch screen, a separate digital instrument cluster, and a multi-function steering wheel.
Market Context
While Honda has not yet released full powertrain specifications, the SUV is expected to be offered with two battery pack options. Specific details regarding battery capacity, driving range, motor output, and charging performance remain unconfirmed.

Upon its arrival, the 0 Alpha will compete in a crowded electric SUV segment. Expected rivals include the Suzuki E-Vitara, which is currently priced between Rs 52.99 lakh and Rs 64.49 lakh in Nepal, and the Mahindra BE 6, which ranges from Rs 57 lakh to Rs 68 lakh. The Tata Sierra EV is also expected to join this competitive space, though it is not yet on sale in Nepal.

This development marks a significant step in Honda's global electric vehicle strategy, with India serving as a key manufacturing and launch hub.
