Hero Glamour X 125 gets ABS in India, Nepal still waits

Hero has rolled out a new Glamour X 125 variant with single-channel ABS and Integrated Braking System (IBS) in India, pushing safety features higher in the 125cc commuter class there. The bike was first introduced in August 2025 with segment-first cruise control and multiple ride modes, and this latest update adds more advanced braking tech on top of that.

Where Glamour X 125 would sit in Nepal

The Glamour X 125 is already announced in Nepal but not yet on sale, and its ex-showroom price has not been disclosed. In Hero’s current Nepal line-up, it would sit above the entry commuters Hero HF Deluxe at Rs 1.79 lakh and Hero Splendor iSmart 110 at Rs 1.83 lakh, and broadly in the zone of Hero Glamour at Rs 2.05 lakh – Rs 2.44 lakh. It would be close to other 125cc and family-focused options like Hero Destini 125; Kuzu Nepal has not announced a price for this variant.

Nepal pricing for Glamour X 125 is still unknown. So far there is no official confirmation from Hero’s Nepali distributor that the ABS-equipped variant, or even the standard Glamour X, has a launch date here.

What’s new on the Indian ABS model

The latest Indian update gives Glamour X 125 single-channel ABS paired with Hero’s Integrated Braking System (IBS). This setup is meant to improve stability under hard braking and reduce the risk of the front wheel locking, especially on slippery surfaces and uneven roads.

Hero has also added Panic Brake Alert, which rapidly flashes the LED indicators under sudden braking to warn vehicles behind. Hazard lamps are part of the package. These features matter in dense traffic conditions and on highways where quick stops are common.

The Glamour X 125 keeps its tech-heavy character:

• Three riding modes: Eco, Road and Power
• Cruise control on a 125cc commuter
• A 10.7 cm adaptive multi-colour instrument console with more than 60 functions, including real-time mileage, distance-to-empty and gear-shift advisory
• Bluetooth connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation, estimated arrival time, and call/SMS alerts
• Full LED lights, Type-C USB charging and dual under-seat mobile storage

Power comes from Hero’s Sprint-EBT engine with about 11.4 BHP at 8,250 rpm, paired with ergonomics aimed at everyday commuting: wide handlebar, low seat height and a long, flat seat.

Styling remains close to the existing Glamour X, with two new colours added in India, Gun Metal Grey and Matt Axis Grey, alongside Black Pearl Red and Black Teal Blue.

What this could mean for Nepali 125cc buyers

In India, Glamour X 125 competes with TVS Raider 125, Honda SP 125 and Bajaj Pulsar 125. Among these, TVS Raider was one of the few with ABS in the 125cc space before the new Glamour X ABS variant arrived. That signals a shift: safety features once reserved for bigger bikes are now moving into everyday commuter territory.

Nepal already has Bajaj Pulsar 125 at Rs 2.73 lakh – Rs 3.05 lakh across three variants, including NS125 ABS FI BS6 at Rs 2.80 lakh, and the newer Pulsar N125; Kuzu Nepal has not announced a price for this variant. TVS sells Raider 125 FI in Nepal at Rs 2.93 lakh – Rs 3.16 lakh, sitting around popular options like TVS Apache RTR 180 at Rs 2.80 lakh and TVS NTorq 125 at Rs 2.70 lakh – Rs 3.35 lakh.

If Hero brings the Glamour X 125 ABS to Nepal, buyers in the Rs 2–3 lakh bracket could see:

• More safety: ABS and IBS as standard or at least on higher trims
• Higher feature content: cruise control and navigation on everyday commuters
• Pressure on rivals: Bajaj and TVS may have to respond with more features or sharper prices on Pulsar 125 and Raider 125.

For now, Nepali riders should treat Glamour X 125 ABS as a preview of where 125cc commuters are heading in India. Until an official Nepal launch is announced, Pulsar 125 and TVS Raider remain the more concrete ABS-equipped choices in our market, and the Glamour X 125 is a promising but still "coming sometime" option in the background.
