Bajaj Auto has expanded the Pulsar N160 family in India with two new variants, the Pulsar N160 S and Pulsar N160 SS. Prices start at Rs 1,33,511 and Rs 1,42,585 ex-showroom in Delhi.
For Nepal, the main question is where this update fits. Bajaj already sells the Pulsar N160 here at Rs 3.40 lakh to Rs 4.36 lakh, so if these 4-valve versions arrive locally, they would likely sit above the current bike.
What changes on the new N160
The new variants use a 164.5 cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve SOHC engine with oil cooling and an electronic throttle body. Output is 18.5 PS and 14.4 Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
Bajaj has also added four ride modes — Road, Rain, Sport and Off-road — along with traction control on the higher trim. The company has introduced Crawl Technology for slow traffic. The bike can move smoothly without constant clutch use.
The Pulsar N160 S gets an LCD console with Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation. The Pulsar N160 SS moves up to a 5-inch TFT display with Google Maps mirroring, Bluetooth + WiFi, adjustable clutch and brake levers, a radial rear tyre and coloured alloy wheels.
What it could mean in Nepal
If Bajaj Nepal brings this version in, it would give buyers a more premium Pulsar option above the existing N160 and closer to the brand’s higher-output models. For reference, the Bajaj Pulsar N150 in Nepal is priced at Rs 3.77 lakh to Rs 3.93 lakh, while the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 sits at Rs 3.99 lakh to Rs 4.69 lakh.
That would place the new N160 as a tech-heavy middle step between mainstream 150cc buyers and entry performance-bike shoppers.
The Indian lineup also brings 37 mm USD forks, a 300 mm front disc, a 795 mm seat height, 165 mm ground clearance and a 14-litre fuel tank. Bajaj says the larger N160 can do 0-60 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
