A **Tata Sierra EV test vehicle has been spotted in Nepal ahead of the NADA Auto Show 2026, which has officially opened at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. The event was inaugurated by Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav**, who emphasized the importance of the automobile sector as a long-term investment-driven industry. He called for a balance between industrial development, investment security, job creation, and consumer interests.

Sipradi Trading, the authorised distributor of Tata Motors in Nepal, has confirmed the arrival of the Sierra EV, which will be showcased at the event from August 25 to 30. In a new development, Tata Motors has opened pre-bookings for the Sierra EV in Nepal. Customers can now book the SUV by paying a token amount at the NADA Auto Show 2026. While the official price has not been announced yet, deliveries are expected to begin during the festive season.

Vice President Yadav linked NADA's 50-year journey with the development of Nepal's automobile industry over the past five decades. He urged Nepali businesses to view the global shift towards electric vehicles, autonomous driving, smart mobility, and digital technology as an opportunity.

In Tata's Nepal lineup, the Sierra EV would sit above the brand's compact EVs. The **Tata Tiago EV currently starts at Rs 28.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 29.99 lakh, while the Tata Punch EV 2026 is listed at Rs 32.99 lakh – Rs 36.99 lakh across two battery variants. Tata already sells the Tata Nexon EV at Rs 38.99 lakh – Rs 50.99 lakh and the fleet-focused Tata XPRES-T EV at Rs 36.99 lakh – Rs 38.49 lakh. The petrol Tata Punch sits higher still, at Rs 39.99 lakh – Rs 45.49 lakh**. A future Sierra EV would likely occupy a more premium slot in Tata's SUV range.

Sierra EV: What this sighting suggests

Tata Punch EV

  • A Sierra EV unit is physically present in Nepal, pointing to local testing, homologation work, or preparation for display.
  • The timing, just ahead of NADA Auto Show 2026, suggests Tata and Sipradi Trading are lining it up as a showpiece EV SUV for the event.
  • Nepal pricing, variants and launch date for the Sierra EV have not been announced yet. There is no confirmation that bookings will open during NADA.

The Sierra EV is offered in India with 63 kWh and 75 kWh battery options. Tata claims a MIDC range of up to 665 km with the 75 kWh RWD version. The 63 kWh version has a claimed range of 535 km, while the 75 kWh QWD version offers up to 624 km. The RWD version produces 175 kW, while the dual-motor QWD version develops 225 kW. Both versions offer up to 504 Nm of torque. The top QWD version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.

The Sierra EV can add up to 263 km of claimed range in 15 minutes using fast charging. Its distinctive design includes a full-width LED light bar, Bi-LED projector headlamps, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The cabin features a dual-tone theme, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital cockpit. Additional features include leatherette upholstery, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, a sunroof, and a JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos technology.

For now, the Sierra EV remains a preview model for Nepali buyers. It's visible in the country, but not yet on sale.

Tata's current EV focus: Punch EV and Tiago EV

While the Sierra EV prepares for a possible debut, Tata has already refreshed and repositioned its smaller EVs in Nepal.

  • Tata Punch EV 2026Rs 32.99 lakh (30 kWh) and Rs 36.99 lakh (40 kWh)
  • Built on Tata's dedicated EV platform, with 30 kWh and 40 kWh battery options.
  • Supports 65 kW DC fast charging for quicker top-ups on compatible chargers.
  • Higher variants add wireless phone charging, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, connected car features and a 360-degree camera.
  • Safety kit includes six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, tire-pressure monitoring and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.
  • The facelift keeps a familiar cabin layout but now gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver display.
  • Tata Tiago EVRs 28.99 lakh (Pure +24) and Rs 29.99 lakh (Creative +24)
  • Tata's most affordable electric car in Nepal.
  • It sits just below the Punch EV in price, and below the **Tigor EV at Rs 29.99 lakh – Rs 34 lakh**. That makes it the entry point into Tata's electric range.

Expo offers and long warranties

At the recent NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, Sipradi Trading backed Tata's EV push with finance and warranty schemes.

  • A Punch EV buyer could opt for a monthly EMI of about Rs 28,210 for seven years, with a 40% down payment and 5.25% interest from Global IME Bank.
  • Expo bookings on Tata cars came with an extended warranty of up to 11 years or 220,000 km. That's unusually generous for this segment.
  • The Punch EV facelift at the expo also carried a Rs 100,000 cash discount, bringing its effective entry price close to the Rs 32.99 lakh bracket in current listings.
Tata Tigor EV

The Punch EV and Tiago EV are already repositioned and heavily promoted. The arrival of a Sierra EV test unit points to Tata's next move in Nepal: a larger, more premium electric SUV, likely previewed on the NADA 2026 show floor before any launch or price announcement.
