BYD’s premium sub-brand **Denza has revealed the interior of the new N8 full-size electric SUV in China**, hinting at a future flagship that could eventually join the brand’s growing line-up already being introduced in Nepal.
Big screens and tech-luxury cabin
The Denza N8’s cabin is dominated by a 1.1-metre panoramic display running under the windscreen and a separate 30-inch central touchscreen, moving away from BYD’s usual rotating “floating” screen setup.
- The SUV uses a three-spoke D-shaped steering wheel with the gear selector mounted behind it.
- The centre console houses wireless phone charging, a bank of physical buttons and a hidden storage compartment.
- Seat adjustment controls are integrated into the door, and there is an A‑pillar-mounted driver monitoring camera.
- Front seats offer heating, ventilation and massage functions, underlining the N8’s luxury positioning.
Size and performance
The Denza N8 is a five-seat SUV measuring 5150 mm long, 1999 mm wide and 1820 mm tall, with a 3075 mm wheelbase, placing it in the same size class as large three-row SUVs familiar to Nepali buyers.
Powertrain options (all electric) include:
- Single-motor rear-wheel-drive version with 320 kW (429 hp).
- A more powerful rear-drive variant with 370 kW (497 hp).
- A top-spec tri-motor all-wheel-drive setup delivering 890 kW (1,193 hp).
Battery choices are 105.792 kWh and 130.15 kWh LFP packs, giving a claimed CLTC range between 800 km and 1,003 km. The N8 also supports very fast DC charging, with the brand claiming 10% to 97% in nine minutes, though real-world figures in markets like Nepal would depend on infrastructure and local testing.
Nepal angle: could this come here?
Denza has already made its official entry into Nepal through Cimex Inc., with models like the Denza D9 and Denza B5 showcased and launched at recent events in Kathmandu. Dedicated Denza facilities, including a showroom (often branded as Denza Atelier), are already operating in the capital.
Given that Denza is now formally present in Nepal and selling premium EVs and plug-in hybrids, the N8 becomes a realistic future candidate if Cimex chooses to expand the line-up with a full-size electric SUV positioned above the current offerings.
However, there is no official confirmation yet that the Denza N8 will be launched in Nepal, no local timeline, and no indicative pricing. For now, the N8 remains a China-market reveal that Nepali buyers should view as a potential future option rather than an imminent launch. Any import would likely place it in the upper end of the premium EV market, well above Rs 1 crore once duties and taxes are applied, but Nepal pricing has not been announced.
