BYD’s premium brand Denza has taken its first step into the electric supercar segment with the new Denza Z, officially revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. The car is positioned directly against traditional icons like the Porsche 911 and other high‑performance EVs.

What is the Denza Z?

According to international reports, the Denza Z is a two‑door, four‑seat electric sports car offered in three main variants:

  • Coupe (hard‑top)
  • Spider (soft‑top convertible)
  • Racing (track‑focused version)

All three use a tri‑motor all‑wheel‑drive setup with one motor at the front and two at the rear, delivering a combined output of about 1,582 hp. The Racing version reportedly accelerates from 0–100 km/h in about 1.96 seconds, while the Coupe and Spider complete the sprint in roughly 2.25 s and 2.3 s respectively. Top speed is claimed at up to 350 km/h for the Racing version.

The car uses BYD’s second‑generation Blade Battery with around 76 kWh usable capacity, giving the Coupe a quoted range of about 409 km on a single charge. Fast‑charging capability is a key highlight, with overseas media citing charging power of up to 1,500 kW on BYD’s Flash chargers.

International pricing, in Nepali terms

In the UK, the Denza Z is reported to start at £142,900 for the Coupe, £159,900 for the Spider and £172,900 for the Racing version. Converted to Nepali rupees at current exchange rates, this is roughly:

  • Coupe: around Rs 2.5 crore (about Rs 250 lakh)
  • Spider: around Rs 2.8 crore
  • Racing: around Rs 3.0 crore

These figures are before any import duties, VAT and other local costs that would apply if the car were ever formally imported into Nepal.

Nepal angle: Denza is already here

Denza formally entered the Nepali market in 2026 with the launch of models like Denza D9, Denza B5 and Denza B8, positioned as premium MPVs and SUVs. Local social media and launch event coverage confirm that Denza is being retailed as a high‑end EV and hybrid brand in Nepal.

This is important because it means the brand infrastructure already exists – distributor relationships, service network and charging partnerships. While the Denza Z is an ultra‑niche supercar and not yet announced for Nepal, its debut shows how far BYD’s technology is likely to trickle down into more attainable Denza models that could be sold here in the coming years.

What it means for Nepali buyers

  • The Denza Z itself, given its price and performance, would be of interest primarily to a very small number of high‑net‑worth enthusiasts if it ever arrives here.
  • However, its tri‑motor setup, advanced chassis systems and next‑gen Blade Battery indicate the direction of future Denza SUVs and sedans for Nepal – better performance, faster charging and more refined ride quality.
  • As BYD and Denza push into Europe, it also strengthens the brand’s global image, which can help resale value and confidence for existing Denza owners in Nepal.

At this stage there is no official confirmation that the Denza Z will be imported to Nepal, but with Denza already active here and focusing on premium positioning, the model sets a technological benchmark that future Denza vehicles in Nepal are likely to follow.
