Changan’s EV brand Deepal has rolled out an updated version of the Deepal S05 electric SUV in China, with more driving range and new intelligent driving features.
What has changed in China?
According to Deepal’s announcement from China, the revised S05:
- Is offered only as a full-electric SUV.
- Gets two battery options: a 56.12 kWh pack with a claimed 520 km CLTC range, and a 68.82 kWh pack with up to 620 km CLTC range.
- Adds higher-spec driver assistance on top variants, using a 128‑channel LiDAR sensor supplied by Hesai and dual Horizon Robotics J6M chips to power advanced driver-assistance features.
- Is open for pre-sale in China in the range of 119,900–151,900 yuan, roughly Rs 26–33 lakh when converted to Nepali currency.
Deepal first introduced the S05 globally in October 2024. Since then, the model has grown into one of the brand’s core products, with reported monthly worldwide sales of around 30,000 units according to the company.

These prices refer to the versions officially sold in Nepal at present. The Chinese update with LiDAR and longer claimed range (up to 620 km CLTC) has not yet been formally announced for the Nepali market.
