A BYD Yangwang U9 Extreme has been destroyed during a high-speed test on a closed track in China. Video footage released by the manufacturer shows the electric hypercar losing control and striking a barrier at speeds reported between 420 km/h and 450 km/h.
The impact caused the front and rear sections of the vehicle to disintegrate, with the rear axle assembly completely detaching. Despite the severity of the crash, the carbon-fibre passenger cell remained intact, and the driver walked away without serious injuries.
This test was part of the brand's preparation to break the 500 km/h speed barrier. The model produces 2,977 hp from four electric motors and utilizes a 1,200-volt electrical architecture. Production is limited to 30 units globally.
There is no official information regarding a Nepal launch for this vehicle, and Nepal pricing has not been announced.
