Xiaomi is preparing to move beyond phones and gadgets into family-focused electric mobility with the Sky Nomad series, its first extended-range EV lineup. According to the announcement, the N90 Max and N70 Max will be launched on July 30.
What Xiaomi is introducing
The Sky Nomad series sits on the new Kunlun Technology Architecture and is being pitched as a “living space” rather than only a way to get from A to B. Xiaomi says the cabin has a flat floor, long seat rails, and swivelling front seats, with the idea of turning the interior into a studio, café, or lounge when the car is parked.
N90 Max: larger three-row SUV
The N90 Max is a 7-seater SUV with a length of 5,285 mm and a wheelbase of 3,080 mm. Xiaomi says it uses a 2+2+3 seating layout. For safety, it gets an armour cage structure made from 2,200 MPa high-strength steel, and the company claims the roof can take up to 14 tonnes of load.
N70 Max: five-seat all-wheel-drive model
The N70 Max is a 5-seater all-wheel-drive SUV with a length of 4,960 mm and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. It is positioned as the smaller of the two models in the Sky Nomad family.
Powertrain and battery details
Both SUVs use a 1.5-litre engine supplied by Harbin Dongan Automotive Engine. Xiaomi says the Sky Nomad lineup will offer battery packs of up to 76 kWh, with a claimed driving range of 380 km to 505 km on a full charge. The company also claims fuel consumption of 5.7 litres per 100 km once the battery is depleted.
For Nepali buyers, the key point is that Xiaomi is clearly targeting the range-extender SUV segment. Official Nepal pricing, distributor plans and local launch timing have not yet been announced.
