TVS Orbiter V2 electric scooter coming to Nepal

TVS Motor is set to add another electric two-wheeler to its Nepali line-up, with the TVS Orbiter V2 expected to go on sale in Nepal shortly, distributed by Jagdamba Motors, the brand’s official partner for the country.

According to dealer information, the Orbiter is likely to launch at an introductory price of around Rs 2.82 lakh. The company has not yet issued an official price announcement, so this figure may change once the scooter is formally unveiled.

The Orbiter will be TVS’s second electric scooter in Nepal, joining the TVS iQube in the brand’s EV portfolio.

Battery, range and performance

The Orbiter has been developed mainly for city riders and short intercity trips.

  • Battery: 3.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack
  • Certified range (IDC): up to 158 km per full charge
  • Claimed practical riding range: around 130 km per charge
  • Motor: 2.5 kW peak BLDC rear hub motor
  • Top speed: up to 68 km/h

For most urban users, the claimed 130 km practical range means a typical week’s commuting can be covered on one or two charges, depending on distance and riding style.

Features and connectivity

TVS is positioning the Orbiter as a feature-rich smart scooter. Key equipment includes:

  • Color LCD digital instrument cluster with TVS Connect app support
  • Full LED lighting with LED DRLs
  • Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation
  • Live location tracking and over-the-air (OTA) updates
  • Hill hold assist, anti-theft function and crash alert
  • Cruise control and regenerative braking
  • Motor cut-off safety technology
  • Multiple riding modes, reverse mode and reverse parking assist
  • USB charging port for devices

These features aim to give electric scooter buyers a mix of safety, convenience and connected services in daily use.

Comfort, practicality and hardware

For Nepali road conditions, ground clearance and ride comfort are important. The Orbiter offers:

  • Ground clearance: 165 mm
  • Flat seat and flat floorboard for easier mounting and cargo placement
  • 34 litres under-seat storage, enough for a helmet and small bags
  • Alloy wheels with tubeless tyres
  • Drum brakes front and rear
  • Telescopic front suspension and dual rear shock absorbers

What this means for Nepali buyers

With an expected price of about Rs 2.82 lakh, the TVS Orbiter V2 targets riders who want an affordable, tech-rich electric scooter mainly for city commuting, backed by an established distributor network.

For buyers comparing petrol scooters and entry-level EVs, the Orbiter’s 130 km usable range, 3.1 kWh battery and connected features make it a strong option to consider once official pricing and finance schemes are confirmed.
