Tesla has confirmed it will stop building the Cybertruck at its Gigafactory Texas around the middle of 2027. CEO Elon Musk announced the decision to wind down the pickup truck's production to create more manufacturing space for the company's fully autonomous Cybercab.
First unveiled in 2024, the Cybercab is a two-seat robotaxi that lacks a steering wheel and features scissor-style doors. It began limited paid public service in Austin, Texas, in September 2026.

While the company has not confirmed if the Cybertruck will be built at another location, the Texas facility is currently the only site producing the vehicle. Tesla has assured existing owners that service support and spare parts will remain available.
This decision follows a period of declining sales for the pickup. According to industry estimates, Tesla sold 11,586 units in the US during the first nine months of 2026, a 28% drop compared to the same period in 2025. Total sales since deliveries began in December 2023 are estimated at approximately 71,000 units.

Tesla does not currently sell the Cybertruck in Nepal, and no local pricing has been announced.
