Suzuki’s upcoming small electric car based on the Vision e-Sky concept has now been spotted testing in Europe. That puts the brand a step closer to a new global micro‑EV. For Nepali buyers, this is relevant because Suzuki (through Maruti Suzuki India) is one of Nepal’s biggest car suppliers, and any India‑spec version of this EV could later be imported here.
What Suzuki Sky Vision EV Is
- Expected to be a compact A‑segment electric hatchback with a boxy "tallboy" shape, similar in spirit to the WagonR.
- European reports suggest a target price around Rs 22 lakh (converted from about 20,000 euros), placing it among the more affordable city EVs abroad.
- Suzuki has indicated a driving range of over 270 km on a single charge and a single front-mounted motor.

The test car sticks to a practical, upright design with projector‑type headlamps, simple geometric windows, conventional ORVMs and a large rear glass area. The focus is clearly on easy visibility and tight‑city maneuverability rather than premium styling.
Possible India Version – And Nepal Angle
According to reports, Suzuki may introduce the production e‑Sky in Europe around 2027, and a modified version is being studied for India to compete with the **Tiago EV, MG Comet EV and Citroën eC3** in the affordable EV segment.
If Maruti Suzuki does launch an Indian version:
- A localized India model could be priced closer to existing small EVs there. That would likely translate to roughly Rs 25–35 lakh on‑road in Nepal, after customs duties and local costs. This would place it between premium hatchbacks and compact crossovers.
- For Kathmandu and other urban centres, a 270+ km claimed range and compact footprint would suit office commutes, school runs and city errands where parking is limited.
- It would give Nepali buyers a Suzuki-branded alternative to current small EV imports and could put pressure on rivals to improve features or revise pricing.
What Nepali Buyers Should Watch
- Whether Maruti Suzuki India confirms an India-spec e‑Sky with right-hand drive and compatible charging standards.
- Final battery size, range and safety features, which will determine if it is viable for occasional intercity trips like Kathmandu–Pokhara, not just city use.
- How its eventual India price compares to the Tiago EV and MG Comet EV; that will be a strong indicator of future Nepali pricing.
For now, the Sky Vision / e‑Sky EV remains a developing project. Given Suzuki’s strong presence in Nepal and our reliance on India‑made models, this micro‑EV is worth keeping on the radar for anyone planning a compact electric city car in the next few years.
