Electric vehicle infrastructure in Nepal has reached a new milestone with over 2,300 charging stations now operational across the country. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) manages 62 of these sites, while the private sector operates the remaining 2,238 locations. Most private stations are run by vehicle distributors and hotels.
While three stations in Nuwakot and Syaphrubesi remain affected by recent flooding in Bhote Koshi, the rest of the network is active.
To help drivers locate these points, the 'Charging Stations Nepal' digital platform has gained significant traction. The app has recorded over 30,000 downloads and currently serves more than 25,000 active users. The platform relies on community updates to keep its data accurate.
Users can now use the app to load balances and charge vehicles directly at approximately 200 stations. The software also integrates with three other networks, including MAW, Electrova, and Divo Charge Point, to provide a more unified experience for EV owners.
