NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 has been officially announced for August 11–16, 2026 (Shrawan 26–31, 2083) at Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu. Organised by the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), this is billed as the country’s largest mobility event, with over 55 brands and around 40 new vehicle launches planned.
What the expo will feature
The expo will host passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, commercial vehicles and EVs across more than 50 stalls. Organiser and media briefings confirm participation from major passenger-vehicle brands such as BYD, MG, Tata Motors, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Mahindra, Kia, Omoda, JAC, Forthing, Arcfox, Denza and Leapmotor. Two-wheeler presence will include Bajaj, CFMOTO, ZEEHO, Honda, KTM, MV Agusta, Royal Enfield, Suzuki, Triumph and TVS.
Expect strong emphasis on electric mobility. NAIMA and partner coverage highlight multiple new EV debuts and crossovers, along with charging solutions, accessories and hybrid options. Commercial brands like Cherry, Keyton, Skywell and Carry are also slated to display small trucks and vans aimed at urban logistics and business users.
Models and launches to watch
Early announcements point to several notable showcases:
- Cherry QQ electric crossover targeting city buyers looking for compact EVs around the Rs 20–30 lakh band.
- Tata Punch EV, expected to appeal to first-time SUV buyers considering a shift from petrol to electric.
- Wuling Xingchen EV, Leapmotor A10, Proton X5 and Arcfox T1, all positioned as fresh EV and SUV options making their Nepali debut.
Pricing details are not fully public yet, but most compact EVs and crossovers are likely to span roughly Rs 20–60 lakh, with larger premium EVs higher.
Practical buyer advice
For buyers planning Dashain–Tihar purchases, this expo is a strategic time to compare offers before committing. Historically, brands at NAIMA expos use August to preview or pre-announce festive discounts, exchange bonuses, finance schemes and free accessory packages that later expand during Dashain.
Practical steps:
- Shortlist 2–3 segments (e.g., city EV, compact SUV, commuter bike) and compare total cost of ownership, not just sticker price.
- Ask dealers for finance breakdowns: down payment, EMI, tenure and any hidden processing costs.
- For EVs, check battery warranty, service network, and home charging feasibility before deciding.
- For two-wheelers, compare fuel efficiency, service intervals and spare-part availability, especially outside Kathmandu.
Attending with a clear budget band (for example, Rs 4–6 lakh for commuter bikes, Rs 20–40 lakh for entry EVs) will help you use the expo to negotiate better deals and time your purchase for the upcoming festive season.
