Kia has previewed the full colour palette for its upcoming Syros EV, the brand’s smallest electric SUV for the Indian market. The electric Syros will be offered in multiple variants and nine exterior colours, including Glacier White Pearl, Frost Blue, Gravity Grey, Pewter Olive, Magma Red, Ivory Silver (matte and gloss) and Aurora Black Pearl, with the top X-Line trim getting exclusive Matte Graphite and Aurora Black Pearl finishes.

According to Indian market reports, the Syros EV is expected to launch in early 2026 with prices likely between Rs 15–20 lakh ex-showroom in India. That roughly translates to around Rs 24–32 lakh in Nepal after basic currency conversion, before local taxes and dealer margins.

Technical details are still being finalised, but multiple reports suggest two battery pack options of about 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The larger battery is claimed to deliver a rated range of over 500 km on Indian test cycles, while the smaller pack is expected to offer around 400–450 km on a single charge. Exact figures and motor output will only be confirmed at the official launch.

Nepal angle: why Syros EV matters

Kia’s Syros petrol SUV is already on sale in Nepal through the official distributor, positioned as a compact family SUV below the Seltos. Given this existing footprint and Nepal’s reliance on India-spec models, the Syros EV is a realistic candidate for future introduction here once production and supply for India stabilise.

If brought to Nepal, the Syros EV would sit in the growing compact electric SUV segment currently dominated by models like Tata Nexon EV and BYD Atto 3. Its expected price band suggests it could undercut larger EVs while offering more range than many entry-level electric crossovers, which would be attractive for intercity use such as Kathmandu–Pokhara or East–West Highway commutes with minimal charging stops.

For Nepali buyers, key questions will be:

  • Final on-road price after customs duty, excise and VAT.
  • Whether both battery options are offered, or only the higher-range pack.
  • Availability of fast DC charging compatible with existing Nepali infrastructure.
  • After-sales support and battery warranty from the local Kia distributor.

While Kia has not officially announced the Syros EV for Nepal yet, its India-focused development and shared platform with the petrol Syros make a future Nepal launch plausible. Buyers looking at compact SUVs and planning an EV purchase over the next 1–2 years should keep the Syros EV on their radar as a potential new option.
