Dongfeng Motor and battery manufacturer CATL have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to develop an integrated energy ecosystem. The deal, signed in Wuhan on October 29, 2026, focuses on advancing superfast charging and battery-swapping technologies for electric vehicles.
Under this partnership, Dongfeng plans to use CATL’s third-generation Shenxing battery technology in its future vehicle lineups. This battery is designed for high-speed charging, with the capacity to charge from 10 to 80 percent in 3 minutes and 44 seconds. It can reach a 98 percent charge in approximately 6 minutes and 27 seconds.
Future models under Dongfeng’s Voyah, M-Hero, and Epicland brands are expected to feature these 10C or higher charging capacity batteries. Both companies are also working to expand their network of integrated charging and battery-swapping stations. This collaboration marks a significant step in improving energy replenishment efficiency for electric vehicle owners.
