Digo Group and Gham Power have partnered to build a solar-powered battery energy storage system at the Digo EV charging point in Itahari. According to the announcement, the project is meant to make EV charging cleaner, more reliable and less dependent on the national grid.
What the partnership will build
Under this agreement, the companies plan to:
- Integrate solar power generation with an advanced battery energy storage system at the existing Digo charging station in Itahari.
- Use the stored solar energy to charge electric vehicles when needed, instead of relying fully on grid electricity.
- Reduce pressure on the national grid during peak demand hours by shifting more EV charging to locally produced renewable energy.
According to Digo Group, the system will collect extra electricity produced by the solar panels during the day, store it in batteries, and then supply this power for EV charging whenever required. The company expects this to improve the reliability of power supply at the station and expand the use of renewable energy in day-to-day charging operations.
