BYD Atto 2 becomes Nepal's best-selling EV model
BYD's Atto 2 has crossed 2,500 annual imports, the first EV model in Nepal to hit that mark. The compact SUV got there within roughly a year of its Nepal launch. That pace says something about how fast certain EVs are now moving here.
In BYD's current Nepal lineup, the Atto 2 sits above the **Atto 1 at Rs 30.75 lakh to Rs 34.80 lakh and below the Atto 3 at Rs 52.99 lakh to Rs 78 lakh. It also undercuts the BYD M6 (Rs 55 lakh to Rs 58.90 lakh) and the BYD E6 (Rs 59 lakh**). That leaves it as the brand's middle-ground option in Nepal.

Cimex Inc. brought in the Atto 2 in August 2025. By August 15, 2026, importers had brought in 2,475 units. That beats the previous annual record, set by the Atto 3 with 2,068 units in 2024.
The imports came in two waves: 1,072 units in the final four months of 2025, and 1,403 units in the first eight months of 2026. Several things have driven demand — the BYD badge, 200 mm ground clearance, the Blade Battery, and pricing that undercuts rivals. Cimex's dealer network and after-sales service have helped too.

For its first 11 months in Nepal, the Atto 2 came only in the Premium variant. Kuzu Nepal has not announced a price for this variant. Cimex has since added the Essential and Superior variants. Kuzu Nepal has not announced prices for these two either. Buyers now have more choice across the range.
The Atto 2 measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width and 1,675 mm in height, with a 2,620 mm wheelbase. It runs a 100 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor with 290 Nm of torque. BYD claims a 0-100 km/h time of 9 seconds.

Two battery options are on offer. The base version gets a 45.12 kWh pack. Higher variants use a 51.13 kWh Blade Battery. Claimed WLTP range figures stand at 312 km and 345 km respectively. Charging support goes up to 11 kW AC and 82 kW DC fast charging.

Inside, the SUV gets a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and an eight-speaker audio system. It also has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats and an electric tailgate. On safety, there are six airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking radar, TPMS, adaptive cruise control, intelligent cruise control, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, traffic jam assist and automatic emergency braking.
