VinFast electric scooters expected in India with Evo, Feliz and Viper

Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast is preparing an electric scooter entry into the Indian market, targeting mass two-wheeler buyers.

The company has opened a new round of applications for dealer partners for its upcoming electric two-wheeler business in India, with applications reportedly accepted until 15 September 2026. This follows an earlier dealer drive, and suggests VinFast’s scooters are expected to launch in India towards late 2026 or early 2027, although a final launch date has not yet been officially announced.

Early indications point to three international models being prioritised for India:

• VinFast Evo – positioned as the most affordable scooter, with 12‑inch wheels, a 2.4 kWh battery and a hub‑mounted motor. Its kerb weight is around 110 kg, and it is aimed at rivals such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ather Rizta.
• VinFast Feliz – a larger scooter running on 14‑inch wheels with a 3 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of up to 150 km on a full charge. Indicative Indian pricing points to around Rs 95,000 (about Rs 1.5 lakh in Nepal‑equivalent terms), but official prices are not yet confirmed.
• VinFast Viper – a more sporty, premium big‑wheel scooter, available with 1.5 kWh and 3 kWh battery options. Depending on the battery, the company claims ranges of about 82 km and 145 km, with top speed between 70 km/h and 90 km/h.

VinFast has also filed design patents in India for a maxi scooter and electric bike concepts, hinting at a broader two‑wheeler EV portfolio in the medium term.

There is no announcement yet about bringing these scooters to Nepal, and Nepal pricing or timelines have not been confirmed. However, for Nepali buyers who travel to India, follow Indian EV launches closely, or hope for future cross‑border imports, VinFast’s India plans are worth watching as another potential source of long‑range, urban‑friendly electric scooters in the region.
