Volkswagen has officially teased the updated Virtus sedan, marking the first major design refresh for the model since its 2022 debut. The manufacturer released initial images and a teaser video showcasing exterior revisions ahead of a planned launch in December 2026.
In the Nepal market, the current Volkswagen Virtus is available in three variants with prices ranging from Rs 54.90 lakh to Rs 89 lakh. It sits in the premium sedan segment alongside the Skoda Slavia, which is currently priced between Rs 53.90 lakh and Rs 89.90 lakh. The Virtus is positioned above the Volkswagen Taigun, which starts at Rs 54.90 lakh, and below the Tiguan Allspace, which starts at Rs 126 lakh.

Exterior Updates
The facelifted sedan features a redesigned front bumper with smaller, gloss-finish elements and new cube-shaped fog lamps. The front grille has received revised detailing, and the vehicle now sports new black alloy wheels. The teaser confirms the continuation of the sporty GT variant, which retains its signature red badging. Camera pods mounted on the outside rear-view mirrors suggest the inclusion of a 360-degree camera system. At the rear, the sedan retains its overall shape but incorporates updated LED lighting elements.
Mechanical and Interior Changes
While the powertrain lineup is expected to remain largely unchanged, the 1.0-liter TSI engine may receive a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, replacing the current 6-speed unit. Interior details have not been officially revealed, though updates are expected to align with recent changes seen in the Skoda Slavia, potentially including a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an updated infotainment system.

Volkswagen has not yet announced specific pricing or availability for the Nepal market.
Our own record on this
Skoda Slavia: 3 · Volkswagen Taigun: 3. Each is a dated change we applied to a published ex-showroom price after checking it. A logged change may be a distributor's revision or our own correction coming into line with the official figure — the log says which way each one moved, and when, not why.
