Toyota has announced a recall of 176,737 vehicles in China following the discovery of several technical defects. The campaign, confirmed by the State Administration for Market Regulation on November 4, 2026, affects both electric and hybrid models.
Electric vehicle issues
The recall includes 121,260 electric vehicles:
- Toyota bZ3X: 100,175 units are being recalled because front suspension stabilizer bar nuts may not be tightened sufficiently, potentially leading to instability.
- Toyota bZ7: 21,085 units face software-related issues. Of these, 18,130 vehicles may experience limited braking power at low speeds, while 2,955 units have a camera software fault that could cause unintended steering movement.

Hybrid SUV issues
A separate campaign covers 55,477 hybrid SUVs:
- Toyota Land Cruiser Prado: 47,347 units.
- Lexus GX 550h: 8,130 units.

These models have a defect in the fuel line quick connector, where an external force could cause the locking clip to lift. This risks fuel leakage if the line separates during an impact. Dealers will provide free inspections, install protective covers, and replace fuel line assemblies where necessary.
