Land Cruiser 300 Gets a Hybrid Option in Japan
Toyota will update the Land Cruiser 300 in Japan on 2026-09-16. The diesel variant stays in the line-up, and a hybrid option joins it.
What It Means for Nepali Buyers
The current Land Cruiser 300 3.3 Diesel is priced at Rs 495 lakh in Nepal. That's well above the **Land Cruiser 250 Prado, priced between Rs 322 lakh and Rs 379 lakh, and the Fortuner, priced between Rs 222 lakh and Rs 283 lakh**.
Hybrid Powertrain Details
The new hybrid runs on Toyota's **i-Force Max setup: a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 paired with an electric motor built into the 10-speed automatic gearbox. Combined output stands at 457 hp and 790 Nm**. That makes it the most powerful Land Cruiser 300 built so far.
Toyota is keeping the 3.3-liter twin-turbo diesel V6 as well, with 309 PS and 700 Nm on tap. A new GX diesel trim with five seats joins the range too.
Trade-offs and Trims
The hybrid setup adds roughly 170 kg to the SUV. Fuel tank capacity drops from 80 liters to 68 liters because the battery sits under the cargo area. Water-wading ability stays unchanged at 700 mm, according to Toyota.
In Japan, the hybrid comes in ZX and GR Sport trims. Both get seven seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, a head-up display, and JBL audio.
