Tata Motors is currently developing a new midsize electric SUV, known internally as the Kuno. This upcoming model is expected to launch between 2027 and 2028.
The vehicle is slated to measure approximately 4.3 meters in length. It will sit above the next-generation Nexon EV and below the Sierra EV in the company's electric lineup. For context, the Tata Nexon EV is currently available in Nepal with prices ranging from Rs 44.99 lakh to Rs 50.99 lakh.
The Kuno will be built on Tata’s dedicated Acti.ev electric platform. This architecture supports front-wheel, rear-wheel, and all-wheel drive configurations. The design features a flat floor and an optimized battery layout to increase cabin space. Manufacturing is expected to take place at the company's Sanand facility in India, with a planned annual capacity of 80,000 to 100,000 units.

Specific details regarding the battery, motor, and range remain unconfirmed. The vehicle may share powertrain components with the Tata Curvv EV, which is currently priced at Rs 58.99 lakh in Nepal, or the upcoming Sierra EV. The Curvv EV uses a 55kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 502 km, while the Sierra EV is expected to offer 65kWh and 75kWh battery options with ranges reaching up to 665 km.

This new SUV is positioned to compete against the MG Windsor EV, which is currently sold in Nepal in three variants priced between Rs 41.49 lakh and Rs 46.99 lakh. Pricing for the Kuno has not been announced.
