Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo gets two new colours in India: what it means for Nepal

Skoda Auto India has introduced two new dual-tone colours – Shimla Green and Steel Grey – for the Slavia Monte Carlo edition, limited to 200 units in the Indian market according to the company announcement. Prices in India remain unchanged at Rs 16.69–18.19 lakh ex-showroom, covering the 1.0 TSI automatic and 1.5 TSI DCT variants.

Converted at current exchange rates, this places the Indian Monte Carlo between roughly Rs 26–29 lakh in Nepali currency before local duties and dealer margins.

Slavia already in Nepal, Monte Carlo likely later

The **standard Skoda Slavia is already sold in Nepal, with prices from Rs 49.90 lakh to Rs 75.90 lakh** across Active, Ambition and Style trims with manual and automatic gearboxes. These are petrol-only models and use the familiar 1.0 TSI engine with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.

The Monte Carlo edition sold in India is positioned above the top trim, with:

  • Sporty cosmetic package: black grille and badges, black roof, dark 16-inch alloys, smoked tail-lamps and Monte Carlo badging.
  • Interior upgrades: all-black cabin with red highlights, red-themed digital cluster, red-and-black leatherette seats with Monte Carlo logos, metal pedals.
  • Engines: 1.0 TSI (115hp, 178Nm, 6-speed automatic) and 1.5 TSI (150hp, 250Nm, 7-speed DCT).

Given Skoda’s strategy of bringing India-made models to Nepal a few months after the Indian launch, the cosmetic and colour updates on the Slavia Monte Carlo are relevant for Nepali buyers tracking future imports. Industry reporting around the Slavia facelift also suggests facelift and special editions typically reach India first, then Nepal.

What Nepali buyers should expect

  • No immediate price change in Nepal: the new colours are India-only for now, and announced with no price increase there, so they do not directly affect current Nepal Slavia prices.
  • Possible future Monte Carlo or facelift import: if Skoda decides to offer the Monte Carlo package on Slavia in Nepal, it would likely sit above the current Style AT at Rs 75.90 lakh, reflecting higher equipment and, potentially, the more powerful 1.5 TSI engine.
  • Design cues to watch for: blacked-out trim, dual-tone roof and red interior themes on India’s Monte Carlo may preview what a future Nepal-spec sportier Slavia variant could look like.

For now, Nepali customers continue to get the regular Slavia range. The India-only Shimla Green and Steel Grey dual-tone Monte Carlo run mainly signals Skoda’s design direction, and may help gauge potential pricing and positioning if Monte Carlo or facelifted Slavias are later introduced in Nepal.
