Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo Gets New Dual-Tone Colours In India – What It Means For Nepal

Skoda Auto India has rolled out two new limited-edition dual-tone colours for the Slavia Monte Carlo sedan – Shimla Green and Steel Grey – restricted to just 200 units, according to the announcement. These colours are offered with the automatic variants only, paired with the 1.0 TSI AT and 1.5 TSI DSG turbo-petrol engines.

Slavia’s Status In Nepal

The standard **Skoda Slavia is already on sale in Nepal, brought in by MAW Expanze. It is offered with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine (115 PS, 178 Nm) and a choice of 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions. Reported prices for the current range start from Rs 49.90 lakh for Active MT and go up to Rs 75.90 lakh** for Style AT in Nepal.

Available colours in Nepal today include Crystal Blue, Tornado Red, Brilliant Silver, Candy White and Carbon Steel, with no official Monte Carlo edition listed yet.

What Is Special About The Monte Carlo

In India, the Monte Carlo is positioned as the sportiest Slavia variant, featuring:

  • Blacked-out exterior details (grille, alloys, ORVMs)
  • 16-inch black alloy wheels and darkened tail-lamps
  • Dual-tone roof with a contrasting black finish
  • Monte Carlo badging and logo detailing
  • Black-and-red interior theme with Monte Carlo-branded seats

Mechanically, the Monte Carlo continues with:

  • 1.0-litre TSI: about 115 PS / 178 Nm, paired with 6-speed AT in this limited run
  • 1.5-litre TSI: about 150 PS / 250 Nm, paired with 7-speed DSG, featuring Active Cylinder Technology for better efficiency and plasma-coated cylinder liners for reduced friction

Indicative India prices for the Monte Carlo automatics start around Rs 16.19 lakh ex-showroom for the 1.0 TSI AT and Rs 18.19 lakh ex-showroom for the 1.5 TSI DSG, according to Indian media reports.

Possible Impact On Nepal

While Shimla Green and Steel Grey Monte Carlo are currently India-specific limited editions, the move is relevant for Nepal for three reasons:

  • Skoda often aligns trim strategy across India and Nepal with a time lag. The arrival of Monte Carlo in India has already led to scattered dealer-level promotions of sporty Slavia packages in Nepal, indicating potential for a formal Monte Carlo launch later.
  • Based on current Slavia pricing in Nepal, a factory Monte Carlo variant with 1.0 TSI AT could realistically sit around Rs 80–85 lakh, and a 1.5 TSI DSG Monte Carlo around Rs 90 lakh-plus, depending on duties and equipment. These figures are estimates, but they show the kind of premium buyers should expect for the sportier look and kit.
  • If Skoda decides to bring the facelifted Slavia and its Monte Carlo line to Nepal after India, the new colours and limited-run strategy suggest that current Slavia stock may see discounts or bundle offers here too, as dealers prepare for updated models.

For Nepali buyers considering a Slavia today, the key takeaway is:

  • Current Slavia in Nepal: Rs 49.90–75.90 lakh, 1.0 TSI MT/AT, standard colours.
  • Likely future option: Monte Carlo-style sporty trim, higher price, dual-tone colours and blacked-out styling, potentially tied to the upcoming facelift.

If you want the Slavia primarily for performance and highway comfort, the 1.0 TSI automatic already on sale in Nepal remains a strong option. Style-focused buyers may prefer to wait and watch whether Skoda Nepal introduces an official Slavia Monte Carlo or similar special edition once the Indian facelift is fully rolled out.
