India price hike: what’s new on Octavia RS

Skoda has opened a second limited batch of 50 units of the Octavia RS in India, priced at Rs 56.69 lakh ex-showroom (India). This is a Rs 6.70 lakh jump over the earlier Rs 49.99 lakh launch price announced in November 2025.

The Octavia RS continues to be imported to India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) and keeps the same 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine with 265 PS and 370 Nm, paired to a 7-speed DSG automatic. The car claims 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and an electronically limited 250 km/h top speed.

This second allocation remains small at just 50 cars, after demand for the first 100-unit run far exceeded supply.

Features and equipment

The new batch offers three exterior colours: Mamba Green, Velvet Red and Magic Black.

Key exterior highlights include: - Full LED Matrix headlamps - LED tail lamps with dynamic indicators - Gloss black trim elements - 19-inch Elias anthracite alloy wheels with 225/40 R19 tyres

Inside, the Octavia RS features Suedia Leather upholstery with red contrast stitching, plus electrically adjustable sports front seats offering memory, heating and massage.

Equipment highlights include: - Virtual Cockpit - Ambient lighting - Three-zone climate control - Wireless charging - 32.77 cm infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay - 675W Canton audio system with 11 speakers and a subwoofer - Electrically operated boot with virtual pedal

Safety tech includes 10 airbags and an ADAS package with Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Assist. It also offers Intelligent Park Assist, 360-degree Area View camera, Head-Up Display and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.

Nepal angle: realistic expectations

Skoda currently has no officially confirmed plan to sell the latest Octavia RS in Nepal, and there is no Nepal price or launch date announced. Any future arrival here would have to be as a fully imported CBU, similar to India.

Given the Rs 56.69 lakh ex-showroom India tag and the earlier Rs 6.70 lakh hike even before on-road taxes there, a formal Nepal launch would likely push pricing far higher once import duty, excise, VAT and dealer margins are added. That would place the Octavia RS well above most mainstream sedans and compact SUVs currently sold in Nepal.

For Nepali enthusiasts, the India development mainly signals two things: - The performance Octavia RS remains niche and expensive, even in its primary regional market. - If it ever enters Nepal through official channels, expect an ultra-premium price and extremely limited numbers, closer to luxury European sedans than mass-market models.

Until a Nepal distributor publicly confirms plans, the latest Octavia RS update is best viewed as India-market news that enthusiasts here can watch, but not yet act on.
