Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 x Rough Crafts limited edition announced in India

Royal Enfield has unveiled a limited-edition Shotgun 650 x Rough Crafts and opened registrations in India for just 25 units. It is a factory-built special based on the Shotgun 650 platform. Royal Enfield says only 100 units will be made globally.

For Nepali readers, that matters because the standard Shotgun 650 is already available in Nepal through local dealers, with market listings putting its expected price at around Rs 10.99 lakh. A limited special edition like this usually sits above the regular model in India. If Royal Enfield Nepal ever brings it in through official or grey channels, the price would likely be much higher than the current standard Shotgun 650.

The special edition uses the same 648cc parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine as the regular Shotgun 650, paired with a six-speed gearbox. So the appeal is in the design and collectability, not in a mechanical change.

According to the announcement, the Rough Crafts edition gets a gloss jet black and matte stealth black paint scheme, gold-leaf striping, a brass collaboration badge, numbered units, black bar-end mirrors, a quilted leather seat and gold-finish inner fork tubes. It is positioned as a collector’s bike.

Booking in India follows a registration-and-selection process rather than a normal showroom sale, with the company using a limited drop format. The tiny allocation makes this edition unlikely to become a mass-market option for Nepal soon.

For Nepali buyers, the practical point is simple. The regular Shotgun 650 remains the relevant model, while this Rough Crafts version mainly shows how Royal Enfield is stretching its premium image in South Asia. If such limited editions do appear in Nepal, they usually arrive at a much steeper price because of import duties, low volumes and exclusivity.
