Chinese electric vehicle maker Leapmotor has started pre-bookings in its home market for refreshed versions of the B01 electric sedan and B10 electric SUV. This marks the next phase of its global product push.
What is changing in China?
According to Leapmotor’s announcement, customers in China can now put down a small deposit to pre-order the updated B01 and B10. Early buyers get limited-time benefits such as bonus energy points, a new exterior colour option and early access to test drives.
Both models are built on an 800‑volt high-voltage architecture, a feature already highlighted in detailed Chinese and international coverage of the B01 and B10. This setup allows faster DC charging and better efficiency compared to conventional 400V systems. The updated B01 is claimed to offer a driving range of around 650–670 km on the CLTC test cycle, while the B10 SUV is expected to deliver around 600–610 km, depending on battery and motor configuration.
Higher trims of both vehicles remain battery electric vehicles only, with advanced driver assistance and LiDAR on the top variants for more sophisticated smart driving features.
Nepal angle: Leapmotor already here
Leapmotor has already entered the Nepali market and currently sells the B10 electric SUV and C10 electric SUV, along with the compact T03 city EV through official distributors in Kathmandu. Nepali listings show the B10 priced from around Rs 49.99 lakh for the base variant, with top trims crossing Rs 55 lakh, depending on offers and dealer revisions.
Local promotional materials claim up to 600 km range and a 160 kW motor for the B10 in Nepal, closely matching the Chinese specifications. So the refreshed B10 announced in China is likely the same family of hardware that could reach Nepal in a future update cycle.
What it could mean for Nepali buyers
- Faster charging and longer range: If the updated 800V B01 and B10 are introduced here, Nepali buyers could see EVs that charge notably quicker on DC fast chargers and offer more realistic highway range for long intercity trips.
- Potential price pressure: In China, the current B01 and B10 are positioned as aggressively priced mainstream EVs. While taxes and transport costs make Nepali prices much higher, ongoing cost reductions and tech upgrades in China tend to create downward pressure or better value (more range and features at similar prices) in Nepal over time.
- More choice in the mid-size EV segment: The B01 sedan has not yet been officially launched in Nepal, but local EV portals have already described it as a likely future addition after the B10. If the refreshed B01 comes here, it would give buyers a mid-size electric sedan option alongside existing crossovers and SUVs.
- Tech trickle-down to other Leapmotor models: The same 800V architecture and battery innovations used in the B‑series are also being rolled into other Leapmotor vehicles like the C10 and C11. This raises the likelihood that future Nepali-spec Leapmotor models will get better efficiency and smarter driver-assistance features.
For now, the Chinese pre-order campaign does not change prices in Nepal. It is an early signal of what the next generation of Leapmotor EVs sold here could look like over the next one to two years.
