Hyundai has started rolling out a Remote Engine Immobiliser feature for the Venue and Venue N Line in India, pushed via a controller over-the-air (C-OTA) software update. It lets owners stop a parked car from being restarted without authorisation, using only the Bluelink smartphone app.
Where the Venue sits in Nepal
In Nepal, the Hyundai Venue petrol is already on sale at Rs 48.96 lakh – Rs 67.96 lakh ex-showroom. The line-up currently has:
- HX2 1.2 5MT: Rs 48.96 lakh
- HX5+ 1.2 5MT: Rs 52.96 lakh
- HX5 1.0T 7DCT: Rs 58.96 lakh
- N Line N6: Rs 67.96 lakh
That puts the Venue above entry sedans like the Hyundai Aura at Rs 37.96 lakh, and just below crossovers such as the Hyundai Creta EV at Rs 51.96 lakh – Rs 76.96 lakh and Hyundai Creta at Rs 54.56 lakh – Rs 87.96 lakh. For a buyer eyeing a compact SUV as a city car for Kathmandu or Pokhara, the Venue is already a core option.
What India’s update could mean for Nepali Venues
In India, the new Remote Immobiliser is being offered on ccNC-equipped Venue HX10 and Venue N Line N10 variants, with eligible cars sold from November 2025 getting it via C-OTA, and from September 2026 it is standard on those trims. Hyundai has said the feature will be expanded in phases to other Bluelink-equipped models, and it is already listed for the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Hyundai Nepal has not announced a similar C-OTA campaign or a Remote Immobiliser rollout here. Nepal-spec Venues and Ioniq 5s already sit in the connected-car price band, with the Ioniq 5 GLS Vision Roof at Rs 103.96 lakh, near the Hyundai Tucson at Rs 107.96 lakh – Rs 162.96 lakh and well above the Venue. That means there is room in the pricing for richer software-based security features without reshaping the hardware package.
If Hyundai decides to mirror the Indian approach, the upside for Nepali owners would be clear: theft protection could improve through software on cars already on the road, without a workshop visit or a change in ex-showroom pricing. Until a formal announcement from Hyundai’s Nepali distributor, though, Remote Immobiliser remains an India-market development that Nepali Venue and Ioniq 5 buyers should watch, not yet count on.
In our view, this is an encouraging sign that future Hyundai imports to Nepal are likely to gain more software-driven security and convenience features over their life cycle, rather than staying frozen at launch spec.
