Hyundai is lining up its new flagship electric SUV, the Ioniq 9, for a public debut at the NAIIMA Nepal Mobility Expo starting Sawan 26. The model is being positioned as Hyundai’s most premium EV for Nepal. The expected price is about Rs 2.20 crore, according to the company source quoted in the announcement.
The Ioniq 9 is a 7-seater, three-row SUV built on Hyundai’s E-GMP electric platform. It uses a 110.3 kWh battery. Hyundai says it can charge from 10% to 80% in 24 minutes with ultra-fast charging. The claimed WLTP range is 620 km, and the motor output is listed at 160 kW and 350 Nm.

Interior and practicality
Inside, the Ioniq 9 gets 12.3-inch panoramic curved displays, a premium steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, relaxation seats in the first row, and a bench seat in the second row. Hyundai also lists 338 litres of luggage space. That expands to 2,494 litres with the second and third rows folded.
The cabin is equipped with a 14-speaker sound system, head-up display, wireless charging, 100W USB-C ports across all rows, double-laminated soundproof glass and a bezel-less electronic rear-view mirror.
Safety and ownership
Hyundai says the SUV includes 10 airbags, a blind-spot view monitor and a surround-view monitor. The battery comes with an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty.
For Nepali buyers, the Ioniq 9 signals Hyundai’s intent to move beyond mainstream EVs and offer a more luxurious option in the imported premium segment.
