Honda has launched the ZR-V e:HEV in India at Rs 47.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and the first deliveries started on 25 July 2026, according to the company announcement. Honda also says the first two batches allocated to the Indian market are already booked.
What Honda ZR-V brings
The ZR-V is a 2.0-litre strong hybrid SUV with a dual-motor system, delivering 184 PS and 315 Nm through an e-CVT, with Honda claiming 22.8 km/l fuel efficiency and 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. It sits as Honda’s flagship model in India and comes with Honda SENSING ADAS, 8 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
Other notable equipment includes a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.2-inch digital cluster, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, and a hands-free powered tailgate. The rear seat folds 60:40, and Honda claims up to 1,313 litres of luggage capacity with the second row down.
Why this matters for Nepal
Honda does not currently have a widely established ZR-V retail presence in Nepal, so this is not an immediate Nepal launch story. However, the Indian price is important for Nepali buyers because India remains a key source market for Nepal-bound vehicles, especially for mainstream and premium SUVs.
If the ZR-V were eventually brought into Nepal through the official channel or an importer, its final showroom price would be significantly higher than India’s due to customs duties, VAT, and other local charges. That would place it in the upper premium-SUV bracket, making it a niche option for buyers who want a hybrid Honda with advanced safety tech rather than a volume model.
For Nepali consumers, the broader takeaway is that hybrid SUVs in India are moving deeper into premium territory, and that usually sets the reference price for any future parallel import into Nepal.
