Honda has filed a design patent for the UC3 electric scooter in India. This suggests the model is being evaluated for that market, but it isn't confirmed for sale yet.
UC3: neo-retro city EV
The UC3 is already on sale in Thailand and Vietnam, styled as a neo-retro maxi scooter. It gets a large front fairing with a single LED headlamp and a wraparound LED DRL. There's a flat floorboard, a stepped seat and sleek rear body panels. The scooter runs on 12-inch alloy wheels, and the overall look mixes classic lines with a sporty stance.
Battery, motor and performance
The UC3 uses a fixed LFP lithium-ion battery with a claimed range of 122km on a single charge. Charging from 20% to 80% takes about five hours with a 450W charger. With a 1,200W charger, that drops to around two hours. A 6kW electric motor drives the rear wheel. Claimed top speed is 80kmph, aimed squarely at daily urban commuting.
Features and riding modes
Equipment includes a 5-inch TFT instrument console. There are four riding modes: Standard, Sport, Econ and a reverse mode that helps manoeuvre the scooter in tight spaces.
What it means for our region
The India design patent alone does not confirm a launch. There's no announced timeline, price or Nepal plan yet. Still, the filing shows Honda is actively looking at the UC3 for markets in the neighbourhood, and that's worth watching.
