Hero MotoCorp has confirmed that its first electric motorcycle is scheduled for 2027, extending its EV plan beyond the Vida scooter range.
For Nepal, the closest reference point in Hero’s lineup is the brand’s combustion portfolio. Hero does not currently have an electric motorcycle on sale here, so this stays a future watch item rather than a Nepal launch. If Hero eventually brings the model to the region, it would sit in a segment that could appeal to buyers looking for a premium commuter or touring EV. Nepal pricing has not been confirmed.
What Hero has said
The company says it is working on two dedicated electric motorcycle platforms. One is the UBEX platform for a street-naked motorcycle. The other is VXZ, a higher-performance adventure-oriented project being developed with Zero Motorcycles.
Hero has also said these are new motorcycle-specific architectures, not scooter-based conversions. The company’s EV push is not limited to motorcycles either. It plans to lift monthly Vida production capacity to 45,000 units in FY27, up from 15,000 units at the end of FY26.
What it means for Nepal
At this stage, there is no Nepal-side launch date, distributor confirmation, or booking announcement for the electric motorcycle. Nepali buyers should treat it as a medium-term development, not an immediate showroom option.
If Hero follows its usual India-centered rollout pattern, any eventual Nepal entry would likely depend on Indian launch timing, export availability, and how the final price lands after duties and local taxes. For now, the point for Nepali riders is simple. Hero’s electric motorcycle project is officially on the roadmap, but it is still at least a year away from launch and has no confirmed Nepal price.
