Road clearing under way
Work to remove the landslide at Krishna Bhir on the Prithvi Highway is moving ahead quickly, with the blocked road being prepared for reopening.
Two-sided deployment
Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Sunil Lamsal said 18 technicians and workers have been mobilised from both sides of the affected area. The teams are cutting unsafe trees first, and construction equipment has already been kept ready on both ends for the next stage of debris removal.
Why it matters for vehicle users
The ministry says reopening this main highway is a priority because it will help restore movement of goods and ease travel toward Kathmandu after floods and landslides disrupted the route.
