Krishnabhir Landslide Shuts Nagdhunga–Muglin Road Again

Flood damage has closed the Nagdhunga–Muglin road at Krishnabhir in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality, Dhading. This cuts off a major route to and from Kathmandu.

Floodwaters from the Trishuli River ate into the hillside at Krishnabhir early Sunday morning. A section of the road sank and became unsafe for vehicles.

The highway reopened briefly after the initial blockage. Authorities shut it again once fresh damage appeared on the carriageway.

Hundreds of buses, trucks and cars are now stranded on both sides of the damaged stretch. Passengers face long delays. Traffic will not move until the road is stabilised.

  • Avoid the Nagdhunga–Muglin route today if possible.
  • Clearance work and safety checks are expected to take time.
  • Owners planning to travel this route should look for alternative roads or delay their trips.
