Customers across Nepal who booked the **Chery Q electric crossover** are now in a waiting phase as deliveries depend on limited trade routes with China.

Bookings and delivery plan

Pioneer Moto Corp, the official distributor of Chery in Nepal, has opened bookings for the Chery Q, with an estimated around 1,000 orders collected during the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo and the recent NADA Auto Show.

The company says the cars have already left the factory in China and is targeting arrival in Kathmandu by the end of September 2026, subject to logistics.

Director Gaurav Sarada has stated that customers who booked earlier will be prioritized for delivery, and that the team is working on alternative arrangements to meet the end-September target.

Border situation affecting imports

Imports have been complicated because the Rasuwagadhi and Tatopani routes from China are currently not operating.

  • Rasuwagadhi has been affected by flood damage to roads and infrastructure.
  • Tatopani has been closed by Chinese authorities until further notice due to safety concerns.

At present, the Korala border point is the only functional route for bringing vehicles from China into Nepal, which is slowing the movement of the Chery Q units.

Nepal pricing and key specs

For Nepal, the regular prices are set at Rs 34.49 lakh for the Comfort variant and Rs 35.99 lakh for the Premium variant.

The Chery Q uses a 41.2 kWh battery with a claimed range up to 400 km on a full charge.

It supports up to 85 kW DC fast charging, with the battery able to go from 30% to 80% in around 16–16.5 minutes.

The crossover offers 175 mm ground clearance, a 540-degree surround-view camera, and a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

An ADAS package with more than 20 functions is included, alongside a rear-wheel-drive setup and a practical cabin with 375 litres of boot space, expandable to 1,450 litres by folding the rear seats.

Internationally, the Chery Q has earned design recognition, winning the Red Dot Design Award 2025 and the iF Design Award 2026.
