Chery has been rated the most dependable Chinese domestic car brand in the 2026 JD Power China Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS), marking its second consecutive year at the top among Chinese brands.
The 2026 China VDS measures problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) reported by owners of cars that are 13 to 48 months old, focusing on long‑term quality and durability. In the latest study, Chery achieved 181 PP100, better than both the overall industry average of 192 PP100 and the Chinese-brand average of 201 PP100.
The study covered 34 brands, 109 models and feedback from more than 11,000 vehicle owners across around 80 Chinese cities, giving car buyers a wide sample of real‑world reliability data.
