BYD has unveiled its new flagship electric SUV, the Atto 8, at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. This seven-seat vehicle is the first in the brand's European lineup to feature proprietary Flash Charging technology.
The SUV is equipped with a 115 kWh second-generation Blade Battery. According to the manufacturer, this system allows the battery to charge from 10 percent to 70 percent in five minutes, reaching 97 percent in nine minutes. Even in extreme cold of -30°C, the company claims a 20 to 97 percent charge takes just 12 minutes.
Performance figures for the Excellence AWD version include a combined output of 764 hp and 775 Nm of torque, enabling a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 4.6 seconds. The rear-wheel-drive variant offers a WLTP-rated range of up to 653 km.
Measuring 5,040 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,760 mm in height, the vehicle features a 136-liter front trunk. Sales in Europe are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
