BYD's Ocean Network readies new MPV
BYD's Ocean Network is working on a new MPV for its Ocean series. Sales are planned by the end of 2026.
Ocean Network sales head Zhang Zhuo has called this upcoming MPV a "one-of-a-kind" product, hinting it will sit apart from the brand's current lineup in design and positioning.
Linked to OCEAN-V concept
BYD showed the OCEAN-V concept at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show in April 2026. It was pitched as a family vehicle built for outdoor trips, camping and in-car entertainment.
Key OCEAN-V ideas include: - A buttonless cabin, with all controls on screens - A sliding central display that moves across the dashboard - A large screen that rises from the dash in cinema mode - Flexible seating that can turn rows to face each other, or fold flat to make a bed-like surface for camping
BYD has not confirmed whether the new Ocean MPV will directly follow the OCEAN-V concept. The company says some of these design and feature ideas will gradually appear in Ocean Network production models.
The MPV's official name, specifications and price are still undisclosed. It appears aimed at family buyers who care about practicality, entertainment and outdoor use.
