A video circulating on Chinese social media shows a BYD Fang Cheng Bao Bao 8 driving on a public street in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, with one front wheel lifted off the ground. A yellow-and-red metal wheel clamp is clearly visible on the raised tire, yet the vehicle continues to move using its remaining three wheels.
This capability is powered by the DiSus-P Ultra intelligent hydraulic suspension system. First demonstrated by the manufacturer in May 2026, the technology allows independent control of each wheel's height. The system supports a lift height of up to 300 mm and has a maximum lifting capacity of 9 tons.
While the technology is designed for emergency recovery and navigating difficult terrain, the manufacturer has set a maximum speed limit of 15 km/h when operating in three-wheel mode. The recent footage has raised safety concerns as the vehicle was filmed on a busy road with pedestrians and other traffic nearby. Official details regarding the driver or potential legal consequences remain unconfirmed.
