Sharda, Sipradi, BYD, and Cimex Bolster Bhotekoshi Flood Relief Efforts

Kathmandu – In response to the recent Bhotekoshi River floods and landslides affecting Rasuwa, Dhading, Nuwakot, and nearby districts, major business groups have announced substantial relief packages.

Sharda Group's Relief Initiatives

Cash support to PM Disaster Relief Fund

• Sharda Group has contributed Rs 1 crore 1 lakh to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund.
• Chairman Shiv Ratan Sharda personally handed over the amount at the Finance Minister’s office.
• The cash comes from multiple group companies:
• Pashupati Edible Oil Industry – Rs 61 lakh
• Pashupati Synpack Industries – Rs 15 lakh
• Premier Wires – Rs 15 lakh
• Premier Distillery Limited – Rs 10 lakh

Food, drinks, and oxygen support

• Alongside cash, the group is providing around Rs 60 lakh worth of food and beverages to the government.
• Items include Rumpum instant noodles, Goodlife biscuits, and juices, to be distributed in disaster-hit communities.
• To aid medical response, Sharda Group has also pledged free oxygen supply to the Ministry of Health and Population for use in affected districts.

Shivam Cement aid for reconstruction

• Sharda Group–promoted Shivam Holdings Limited has separately contributed Rs 21 lakh to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
• Shivam Cement Limited will supply 11,000 bags of cement to fully rebuild and resettle one severely affected village.

Blood donation campaigns

• To ensure sufficient blood for injured victims, the group has organized blood donation programs in Kathmandu and Biratnagar.
• The aim is to support blood banks and ongoing rescue and relief operations.

Sipradi and Bhotekoshi Power's Contributions

• Sipradi and Bhotekoshi Power have extended Rs 5.01 crore to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund.
• The funds are intended for immediate relief efforts, healthcare, and infrastructure restoration in flood-affected areas.
• Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha, under Sipradi Group, is actively conducting direct relief programs, distributing essential supplies, food, and other necessities to affected communities.

BYD and Cimex's Support

• **BYD and its official distributor in Nepal, Cimex Inc, have contributed Rs 7 crore to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund**.
• Anil Shrestha and Yamuna Shrestha handed over the cheque to Finance Minister Swarnim Waglé.
• The contribution is aimed at supporting relief, rescue, and reconstruction efforts in flood-affected areas, particularly in Rasuwa district, a key trade route connecting Nepal and China.

Shiv Ratan Sharda has expressed deep condolences to families who lost loved ones and said it is the group’s responsibility to stand with affected communities and support government relief, rescue, and reconstruction efforts. Both Sharda Group and Sipradi have committed to continue assistance as required in the coming days.
