The second Bagmati Auto Gymkhana Prix is confirmed for 29 August (Bhadra 13) at Oxford Driving Training Center, Lolang, Tarkeśhwar.
Backed by Bagmati Province Sports Development Council, the event continues as one of Nepal’s key motorsport competitions. Main sponsorship comes from Xtreme Energy, with support from Liqui Moly lubricants.
This year’s winners will get a chance to compete at the Asia Auto Gymkhana Championship (AAGC) in Hong Kong or India, with Rs 75,000 cash plus sports gear and other support provided through FIA and the provincial sports council.
The total prize pool is Rs 2 lakh, with trophies, certificates and gift hampers for top finishers. All drivers will receive sports insurance, while NASA Nepal will provide racing suits and technical training.
Registration is Rs 9,999, and any car of any engine capacity can enter. If at least 10 women drivers register, a separate women’s event will be held.
Drivers with a valid NASA Nepal racing licence can register directly. Those without a licence but who complete the required procedures will receive a free one-day licensing course, but unlicensed and suspended drivers are not allowed to compete. Participants must represent a club, association or corporate entity.
The gymkhana will run on a short, artistically designed circuit, mixing speed, driving technique and precision. Victory will depend on driver skill, car condition, control, discipline and accurate track navigation.
NASA Nepal has formed a working group of Yaduraj Lamichhane, Ashish Rauniyar and Ankit Bhandari to manage this year’s motorsport event and international participation. Registrations remain open until Friday.
